Cropful of fun on Friday....

Well last night's crop well than made up for the "crappy barfday" I celebrated the day before. I was able to start a few projects, finish one, and then get my wheels cranking for even more! My friend Kelly made this most wonderful chocolate cake, Becca made a card and gave me some bling (I used it on the layout below), and Vicky, made the cutest table decorations including a party hat!

Here is a layout I wanted to finish for Scrap Whispers. Your challenge this week was to check out your I-pod or CD shelf and really take time to look at the names of the songs, the name of the albums and the artists. Choose one of these song names to create a title for a layout ! I decided I should do a page about my love for coffee and this is what I came up with:
At Paper Popsicles, about 9 of us did a valentine swap. You can see what other people made for the swap here. I made this card for everyone:
I continue to blog hop and explore new scrappy sites out there. Special shout outs to I am a Scrapaholic and Dixie Pieces. Some new to me fun places loaded with inspiration! As always, I am honored you stopped by my blog today! Happy Scrapping!

Happy Birthday to Me....and other things...

Today is my birthday. 38 years. **sigh** What does DH bring me? A chair for the computer desk. Now I already have a chair, and this is pretty utilitarian, and not at all scrapbook goodies, but I love him for it anyway. It is a comfy sit while I type, that is for sure. Too bad it was overshadowed by the gift HE got:
yup, a new truck. His car got totalled 2 weeks ago which left us in a bit of a lurch. Anyone who knows my husband, knows that this purchase was HUGE for him, especially given that we just bought a brand new van. He is so conservative. But this baby is his d r e a m. But the true gift for me was my 4 year old waking up at 12:01 a.m. ( again, it is my birthday...) puking up whoopie pies down the hall and in my bedroom. **sigh** Oh well. This gives me an excuse to finish up a few scrappy projects and get things ready for an evening crop with friends tomorrow seeing as though I can't go to work today!
So, here is my take on Card*a*licious #11. This week's challenge--use a journaling card/tag, green and orange. Here is my take:
I love projects that use up a bit of this and a bit of that. Perfect!! Thanks for looking and have a scrappy day!

Card*a*licious #10

I have really enjoyed these challenges. This week we were asked to use a circle a flower and something sparkley. I used some miscellaneous things I got from a friend a Paper Popsicles as a RAK. The paper was really out of my comfort zone but I think it turned out ok. I used the shaped cards Melissa sells at Paper Popsicles for this project.
Last night we went to St. Monica's for a spaghetti supper and auction. The kids had so much fun and the food was yummy. Who doesn't like spaghetti? At the auction, Riley was giddy about winning "principal for the day" after mom snuck in during the last few seconds and posted the winning bid!
Nice shot of Nicholas eating his spaghetti noodles with cheese, no sauce, and NO SILVERWARE. Afterall, forks and spoons are over rated these days!

Love is in the AIr...

at Paper Popsicles that is! Grab a blinkie and head over there February 6-8th!
Can't wait until then? Then stop over there now! What are you waiting for? Scrap Whispers had their weekly challenge, number 13. This week's challenge was to show off your hand writing. Here was my go at it although my handwriting is not my fave. It is call Amazing {hannah} Grace
The journaling reads: Wiggly, giggly, a ping pong ball. That is you. I am amazed you found patience to sit so still, calm, and quiet for the fish. By Grace you caught one.
What is nice is I scrapped *SMART* and used this as my 3 things challenge you can find here. Createdmonster (Nicole) gave me these three things to work with on this layout: the word Amazing, the color green, and lace. I am honored you stopped by today to my blog!

Super Sunday Post!

Where does the weekend go? I mean, seriously folks! It's off to work I go again tomorrow. Sheeshk! Thanks to my awesome DH, I was able to get some things done this weekend. I stopped by Cardalicious to work on their 9th challenge. Use green and letter stickers and it should be a "for you" card. I lost it with my first card....it is AWFUL! What was I thinkin? Obviously not much, cuz my mojo was G O N E on this one. So then I did another one, just to prove I still have something. More like an attempt to save my dignity. **sigh** Much better :)
Paper Popsicles has some interesting tutorials this month. First, snipandsnails (Holly) gave a great tutorial on how to make a post it note holder. Cute huh? Then, Staceyscraps (Stacey) did a wonderful tutorial on how to make a date book for keeping track of birthdays and other dates. I used delish Fancy Pants Paper (The Daily Grind) found at the Paper Popsicles store here. Finally, I found a way to use up scraps as well as these Piggy Tales Barn Doors that I had hanging around. Don't know why I bought them but I had an "aha" moment today. BOOKMARKS!!! And I love to read as do the little people in my house so these were perfect!Wow! I guess I ended up pretty productive! Thanks for looking!

New Year and New Scrapping Goals!

Hello and welcome to 2009! I decided this year that I would branch out a bit, get out of my comfy spot, and find some new places to make friends, learn, and gain some creative inspiration. I found a couple new spots of which I have enjoyed thus far. There is so much out there! Scrap Whispers has been a great challenge site. They have a bi monthly scraplift team challenge that i am trying and weekly challenges for some cool prizes! This week's challenge was a new year's resolution type theme and this is what I came up with:

Then there is so much going on at Serendipity Scrapbooks that I cannot even keep up one iota! There is a monthly challenge thread as well as a Winter Sketchfest going on. In addition, they are doing a DT call!!! Here are some of the things I have done for that site this month: Every month Paper Popsicles has their monthly sketch and theme challenges as well and the prizes are AWESOME! This month theme is about FIRSTS. Here is a layout for one of those sketch challenges:I have been anxiously awaiting Cardalicious to get their card challenges back up following the holidays. In the meantime, I found a new sketch blog that it starting by Dawn. Dawn has amazing creativity and her work can be found here. Her new sketch blog is called Inspirational Card Sketches
and she is having a DT call for this site right now. Here is the sketch she has provided for this call: These are two samples that I create: Whew! As you can see, I have my mojo ON ON ON!!! TFL!!!
