Got Some Mojo?!?!

My first attempt at using a transparency (Hambly). I love how this turned out!
I tried using the Sheetload of Cards template to make a set of cards:
This was a card for my mother that I also used as a Design Team call entry for Regina Easter's Bitten by the Bug blog:

These are birthday invitations I made for Nicholas' 4th birthday party:

CHA!!!!

Well I am back from CHA. I received a wonderful opportunity to go to CHA and meet the owner of Paper Popsicles, where I design for. I drove into Chicago with the contest Coordinators from the site, Valery and Samantha. What a blast we had!!! There was so much eye candy! When I get more pictures I will post them. There are a few here. A special thank you to Lynda who found this video clip on the Pink Paislee blog with Valery, Samantha, and myself in the front at seconds 52-56. How hysterical is that???!!!!!! Wowzers!

Cyber crops have really gotten my mojo going! If you missed the Fresh Start hosted by the team and I at Paper Popsicles, we're sorry...it was a blast! Great prizes, great challenges, fun times. Aside from giving a challenge, I participated in most of the other challenges too. Don't really know how I get things done sometimes, especially with full time employment and three kids. Paper Popsicles Kit: Art Nouveau

So I got to play with my first kit from Paper Popsicles while being on the design team over there. Now this is definitely not the first kit I have gotten from Paper Popsicles. I have been getting them since October. They ROCK! Melissa is very generous with her kits and I love how fun and unique the papers and products are! Here are my projects from this kit:
This first one was done using a sketch from Nuts About Sketches

The printed papers are heavy cardstock, double sided. There is a loot full of the paper. There were two kinds of rubons, one by one of my new favorite mfrs: October Afternoon. There were also two kinds of adhesive alphas, one was chipboard. There Were also chipboard circcles for a nice album. Flowers and bling rounded out the kit.
So much candy here!!!

Happy Belated Father's Day!

So I got to spend some quality time with my dad and mom on Father's Day. Cooked burgers on the grill, had a homemade salad and homemade potato salad. Yummy! Mom made these awfully rich brownies and I threw in a Market Day apple pie for good measure. A little bit of wine and when we were all set to eat outside....the skies opened up and this is what we got...
I couldn't believe it. Can you see it? HAIL! And tons of it! Amazing!!!
So we ate inside. The night was still enjoyable! Here is me and my Daddy....
He has always been a solid foundation for me growing up and still today. I love you Dad...

After 6 months off of a Design Team, this will be a refreshing change. You need to check out their website for awesome inspiration, terrific challenges and generous prizes. The community so welcoming and fun! In addition, Paper Popsicles has the most beautiful kits out there. The pricing is amazing too. So come on and pop over to Paper Popsicles!!!!

These were the entries for the call: a card, a single page layout, and a double page multi-photo layout.

School Dayz are Over...Again!

Once again I am amazed that another school year has come to an end. Hannah finished preschool and will now be entering kindergarten (can that be possible?) and Riley is going to be in 5th grade! Unbelievable. With the end of the school year come the end of the school year gifts. I made the teachers some cards and flowers. I have done this before for other teachers and they really appreciate these hand made goodies! Well, it's off to a squirt gun fight!!!

Finally, last summer's CHA Album!!

Sicky Wicky

Don't you just hate it when kids get sick? Let's just give you the run down in case you have forgotten about what it is like to have a sick kid:

Up and out of bed in the middle of the night at least 5 times...whining, crying (and that is just mom!), thirsty, hot, cold, have to pee, etc. etc. etc.

Today the name of the game is: cough, sniff, cough, sniff, ooooh ick. I can't stand it! I just want to reach up in there and snag all of those boogers for him. He can't breathe. He hasn't figured out how to blow his nose. Yuck. When I hear him cough, I just want to gag for him. And the streams of goo dripping out of his nose. Ok, gross.

So, the good thing here is that he is QUIET. This is a great feat for Nicholas who's decibles are usually heard in the next county. He has taken a nap today too which is highly unusual at home.

So now we wait to hear from the doctor, to see if he has strep or some other mean ole' bug. Meanwhile, we will continue to take our antibiotics, sniff, cough, wipe his little nose, and maybe....just maybe...mommy won't get sick too!!!

Happy Mother's Day

I want to wish all mothers out there a very special Mother's Day. I know at times we all feel unappreciated, so I want to say I LOVE YOU! I love that you take care of your children, young and old, no matter what the problems. I love that you give all of your children, young and old, hugs and kisses. I love that you are always there to guide, to love, to cherish and to facilitate those memories! Happy Mother's Day!!!

I had to get something made for my mother. She is definitely very special to me. I made this gift bag using my Cricut Expression and the Cricut Design Studio tonight to hold my mom's gift. I tried out some new Glimmer Mist on the flower. I used an Autumn Leaves stamp and watercolored the image. Enjoy!

I am inspired and my mojo is screaming..."KEEP UP YOU FOOL!". Anyway, here are a couple of my lifts (the layouts--thanx BECCA...you rock girl!) and a card using alcohol inks.

Disney Album

I went to Archiver's yesterday in Indianapolis. It was a day long (12 hour crop) but so worth the 3 hour trip EACH direction. Didn't get home until 2:30 a.m. I think I am too old for these types of trips. Woo eee I am T I R E D today!

One of the projects I was determined to work on was a lunch box tin album. I didn't do the pictures yet, but I think you will get the point!!!

More Challenges and Ideas Found

I just love a good challenge, don't you? They give me such mojo! Paper Popsicles has inspired me to try ATC (Artist Trading Cards). These little rolladex sized cards are such a hoot to work with. They are so small that they whip up in a jiffy! I just love that! Go visit them for lots of inspiration and mega amounts of challenges at http://www.paperpopsicles.com/. You definitely
will get your mojo kicking, and quick!

Then there is Ellie! I have seen some amazing projects and wonderful ideas come from her blog, http://www.scrapbookmamaof4kidz.blogspot.com/. She is having a little RAK giveaway. More small cards, this time 3x3 size. I am so fond of these little treasures. They come together so quickly.

Thanks Ellie for all of the inspiration!!!

Better late than NEVER!

Hey There! Things have been so hectic in my personal life that I have neglected my blog. So here I am updating it on Sunday afternoon with Easter Pictures. Ok ok, I know, that was like forever ago, but soon I will add a bunch of scrapbooking goodies for you all to look at too, I promise! I have a bunch that I have done, just haven't posted them either!!! We went to Bloomington, IN for Easter this year to spend time with friends of the family (also, they are the Godparents of our kiddos). It was so lovely!!!

I have accepted a full time position as the Director of Training and Community Resources at Real Services. This is a local area agency on aging that serves five counties in the area. It is a big change for me and the family but it is going well. I am managing my scrapbooking habit just fine with a bit of help during lunch going to the message boards I love.

And speaking of those message boards.....
Have you visited Paper Popsicles lately (http://www.paperpopsicles.com/) They have a blog now!! It is an awesome forum with tons of contest and swaps and F U N!! She also has a quaint on line store with the bst ever kits you can find!!! Check them out!!!

Scrap City (http://www.thescrapcity.com/) is my other favorite spot these days. Again, a super friendly site with the best contests and challenges. This month they are having TONS of challgens. Get em done for change to win a uber cute kit from, PAPER POPSICLES (yay! my favorite kits!!!)
