Party Pig!

Squigglefly has the right balance of cute digis and sentiments.  There are many designers.  I tend to be drawn to more cartoon like characters.  This one just made me chortle, the Party Pig.
I could make this little piggy fit perfectly into their challenge too.  The challenge this week was to use GREEN, SILVER, and a FLOWER.
Mission accomplished!

Some Odd Girl (I know I am but stop telling me! lol)

This week has been Some Odd Girl's Anniversary.  They are celebrating one year.  Although I have just discovered their digis, I am in love.   To celebrate their one year, they are having a week long celebration with daily challenges and some terrific prizes!  I was able to participate in a few of them this week.  The sun finally peeked out today, so I was able to photograph my projects better.  Monday's challenge was to take 1 digi and use it in 3 different ways. The beauty of digis is that you can flip then, make them HUGE, make them tiny, make a background, the possibilities are only limited by your imagination!  So, I used one of their sentiments, You Are So Sweet, and made two cards: one with a tiling of the sentiment, and one lonely larger sentiment, and then I made a bookmark.
Wednesday's challenge was Color Pride.  Today, as part of their Anniversary celebration, they had a color challenge that is near and dear to their hearts. They want us to show our Odd Pride by making a project with the color scheme that has been with them, in one way or another, since the beginning:

I loved how this digi turned out.  I looks like one of my boys "plugged in" for sure!
Thursday was the Kids Day Challenge.  We were invited to have our kids use the digis.  Of course mine loved this.  Both of my youngest participated (shhhhh, don't tell Nicholas I didn't include his this time around....).  Here is Hannah's.  She loves to bling things out.  I think she used a sleeve of pearls and rhinestones as well as a bottle of Stickles (what a stinker!)

Friday's challenge is Some Odd Elements.  We are invited to use a SOG digi and at least three of the following items:
Shaped Card (any shape but square or rectangular)
Organza Ribbon
Misting/Masking
Embossing
Orange
Doodling
Die Cut
Glitter
Ink
Ric rak
Layers (at least 4 on your creation)
You will notice that the first letter of each of the elements above spell Some Odd Girl.  Here is my card with Embossing, Orange, a Teacup shaped card, I cut the digis out like a die cut, a diecut sticker, glitter (I used stickles on her headband, heart on the shirt, and her shoes), ink on the edge of the card, as well as organza ribbon (ok, I am an overacheiver)

There is still some time to get in on any of  the challenges.  They are due by the end of the day today, EST.  I am hoping to get in the last challenge of the week which is to create a mini card, less than 3x4 inches big.  I think I can do it after the basket ball game today and while watching the Bears slaughter the Green Bay Packers (he he).
Thanks for looking as always and Happy Scrapping!

Scrap-Friendzy is having a Sketch A Thon Month!

I love working from sketches.  The girls at Scrap-Friendzy always have something fun to do every month with lots of prizes and points and great all over company.  Here are some of the projects I have squeezed in this month already.  More to come!

Tag! You are It!

I have really fallen in love with Pixie Dust Studio's digital images.  In fact, along with the many freebies they offier, I just purchased an Edward from Twilight and a Harry Potter.  I used the Harry Potter on a fun layout the other day...I will post that later.  Pixie Dust Studio has a Challenge blog HERE.  Every weeek they have super fun challenges.  This week was to create a project that is a tag or has a tag on it.  I decided to make a tag:
What I like about this was the fun snowflake.  I cut the snowflake with my Expression (Accent Essentials) then I used Liquid Applique on it and applied heat to make it puffy looking.
My Copics were used on the image.  Isn't she sweet?  It is difficult to see here, but IRL, there is flocking on the hat and on all of the pom poms and buttons.

Refresh Me at Tiddly Inks!

As I said earlier in the month...you will be seeing more of me now.  I found Tiddly Inks and their challenge blog through a friend of mine's blog.  I love their images too.  I am just in the "try me" phase over there.  This week they have a challenge called "refresh me".  You are to create an all white card with only the image colored.    I love how this turned out!  I embossed some cardstock with my cuttlebug folder and I wet embossed the bottom of the card with a background stamp.

Sguigglefly Fun!

I have been having fun with Squigglefly this weekend.  They had a Digi Day at SNR Card Universe tonight for just some chatter.  I have already found alot to do there and on their challenge blog.  I made some cards here for both places today.  They both work for the "white team" at SNR Card Universe for Squigglefly's Color Bowl Challenge.  The red card works for the Squigglefly Challenge #80: Put Your Heart Into It.
The sentiment is from Squigglefly here.  I love the crisp lines in the sentiment.  I do not think I could ever ink a stamp and get it to look so nice!
I used the heart background paper for this card and the journalling spot both from Squigglefly.  I really like how this one turned out!

Project Count 2010

I have made it a habit to count how many projects I do every year.  The only way I know how to do this is by creating a calendar specifically to record due dates of projects and tally marks of the cards, layouts, and "other" projects I do every year.  For 2010, I was able to successfully complete:
CARDS:   241
LAYOUTS:  45
OTHER:  150
This year, I will do the same.  I think this keeps me mindful of all that I can accomplish even though I work full time and have 3 kids.  Here is my 2011 calendar book:

Autumn Grace in Winter!

My friend Melissa at Needful things has been a big inspriation to me for many years now.  She has really devloped her Copic coloring skills and has found many teams to call her "home".  I found her at Pixie Dust Studio recently and their Challenge Blog always has some fun things to do.  Their digis are super sweet.  Isn't this one fun too?  This week's challenge is  to use one of their digis (they always have freebies...) and make sure you include two ribbons.  I was proud of myself for using nothing but junk in my old stash.  Isn't Autumn Grace just so sweet.  The coloring options are so numerous with her!
Thanks for looking at Happy Scrapping!

You Are my Shining Star!

I finally got around to doing some challenges again.  The Copics were dusted (!) and the paper was found.  Some Odd Girl has terrific digi images.  They play on their blog and at SNR and PCP.  They even offer monthly freebies which is where I found this gem!  The Digi Day challenge this weekend is to create a valentine's/love project that DOES NOT feature RED or PINK. It can have them in it but it can't be the dominate color.  I think I did well!  Why do you take a whirl at this?
